Relief Foundation blir partner till NextM 2020

Organisationen The Relief Foundation har genom en stjärnspäckad välgörenhetsgala i Stockholm samlat in 914 000 kronor. Det blev möjligt tack vare auktion av donerade konstnärliga och kulturella föremål. Pengarna går till hållbar utveckling i Sverige och mottagarna presenteras på marknadsföring- och teknikkonferensen NextM 24 mars i Annexet.

På den glamorösa galan som genomfördes i Stockholm 19 februari deltog över 400 kändisar, konstnärer och personligheter. På plats fanns bl a Ola Rapace, Tilde Fröling, Lord Joseph Coombs, vd och grundare av The Relief Foundation samt Martin Hugosson, vd för mediebyrågruppen GroupM som arrangerar NextM.

– Under de senaste åren har det blivit allt tydligare att vårt företag saknat ett syfte. Efter att jag kom i kontakt med The Relief Foundation och inledde ett samtal med grundaren Lord Joseph Coombs insåg jag snabbt att de kunde hjälpa oss, berättar Martin Hugosson, vd på GroupM, under ett tal på galan i samband med en större donation.

Grundaren Lord Joseph Coombs är inte förvånad över bidragets storlek.

– The Relief Foundation kommer snart att dominera välgörenhetssektorn i Sverige. Den här delen av världen har alltför länge haft en för passiv och otydlig välgörenhetsverksamhet. Vi är den totala motsatsen eftersom vi skapar klarhet och syfte, något som efterfrågas desperat under 2000-talet, säger Lord Joseph Coombs.

Bidragen från välgörenhetsgalan går till projekt inom hållbar utveckling i Sverige. Mottagarna av donationerna tillkännages 24 mars på NextM, Nordens största marknadsföring- och teknikkonferens.

(NEXTM PARTNERS WITH THE RELIEF FOUNDATION FOR 2020 STOCKHOLM CONFERENCE

Stockholm, February 19, 2020 – A star-studded charity gala dinner organized by The Relief Foundation has raised a massive SEK 914,000. The funds will be used by The Relief Foundation to contribute towards new projects within sustainability in Sweden. Funds were raised at the gala through auction of donated artistic and cultural items.

The glamorous dinner and launch of the Relief Foundation in Stockholm was attended by over 400 local celebrities, artists and dignities as well as Lord Joseph Coombs, Director and Founder of the Relief Foundation.

“Over the past two years, there hasn’t been a meeting at GroupM where the simple fact of us not having a purpose as a company wasn’t brought up. It was becoming urgent for us. Then I heard from a colleague about The Relief Foundation. From the first conversations with Lord Joseph, it was clear what we were going to get out of this: A Purpose.” Martin recounted in a speech live in Stockholm after handing a whopping donation to the Foundation. “Now that we have a purpose, it feels like we can step forward as a company into the next decade and beyond.”

“Not at all.” said The Relief Foundation’s Lord Joseph Coombs when asked whether he was surprised about the size of contribution. “Relief will soon dominate the charitable sector in Sweden. Too long has this region been marred and stunted by a sluggish and passive NGOs. We’re totally different and the reasons why are abundantly clear: We provide clarity and purpose. Two things desperately needed in the 21st Century”

Funds will be channeled toward a program of sustainable innovation in Sweden. Local organizations will bid for the right to use the funds for projects related to sustainability. The winner will be announced at NextM, the largest marketing and tech conference in the Nordics, on March 24th at Annexet.)
